Books I’d Want With Me While Stranded On a Deserted Island
FYI: I totally cheated. I have a couple of series, graphic novel compendium (56 issues), and a couple of books over 1,000 pages.
- The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio
- The Poppy War Trilogy by R. F. Kuang
- Goth by Otsuichi
- Dark Matter by Black Crouch
- An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon
- Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
- The Broken Earth Trilogy by N. K. Jemisin
- Saga Series (Graphic Novel) by Brian K. Vaughn
- Songs of a Dead Dreamer and Grimscribe by Thomas Ligotti
- Almanac of the Dead by Leslie Marmon Silko
Have you read any of these? If so, what did you think?
And, don’t forget to check out my Booktube channel.
I am pretty sure I have read Charlotte Bronte, but do not remember it because it has been so long. Looking at everyone’s lists today has made me want to go back and reread some of these classics. My link is here: https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2021/07/ttt-stranded-on-desert-island.html

I second your pick of Jemisin’s trilogy, a fantastic fantasy series. Happy reading. My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/ten-books-i-want-to-read-by-the-end-of-2021/

I read ‘Dark Matter’ during a rough mental health period, and I remember I liked it but I don’t really remember much about it. I might reread it sometime (my mom says ‘Recursion’ is really good too.)

I’ve read the first two Poppy War books, they are really good. And Broken Earth trilogy is excellent. You’ll have lots of good reading on your island.
