Classics Club Spin #25

It’s that time again! Time for The Classics Club Spin #25.  I have been such a slacker when it comes to reading the books on my Classics Club list, and if I’m being honest there aren’t too many books on the list that I want to read at the moment. So I’m going to stray from the list a little or maybe a lot, I just don’t know yet.

How does the Spin work? It’s as easy as 1-2-3. Really. Choose 20 books from your Classics Club list that you have yet to read and post the list to your blog before Sunday, November 22nd

All you have to do is read the book that corresponds to the number and review it by January 31st, 2021. Seriously,  can it get any easier?

I cheated a bit this go round. I selected 10 books I would most like to read for this round because, well, why not.

  1. The House of the Spirits by Isabele Allende
  2. The Plague by Albert Camus
  3. Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison
  4. Bless, Me Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya
  5. The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton (can you believe I’ve never read it)
  6. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
  7. Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin
  8. The Color Purple by Alice Walker
  9. Black No More by George Schuyler
  10. The Street by Ann Petry
  11. The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin by Mark Twain
  12. The Plague by Albert Camus
  13. The Color Purple by Alice Walker
  14. The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende (Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner)
  15. Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin
  16. Black No More by George Schuyler
  17. The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton
  18. The Street by Ann Petry
  19. Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison
  20. Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya

Which book would you like to see me read for The Classics Club Spin? What book are you hoping to read as your CC Spin?

So many good books on this list! I recently read Invisible Man and was surprised by how good it is. The Outsiders! Soo good. We had to read it in 8th grade. Definitely a classic.

I thought Invisible Man was awfully good. I haven’t read S. E. Hinton either. Oh, no!

Oh, Bless Me Ultima is a neat book, I really like it. Black No More is on my CC list and I would have liked to put it in, but I had to stick with books I actually have around here, and that one is at my workplace (where I can’t go — if I’d known back in March…). So I vote for either of those. 🙂

I’ve been in a real slump for the past month, so it’s hard to know what I want to read. I’m hoping this Spin will help!

From that lot I’ve only read Huck Fin so I’ll be very interested in reading about the book you get.
