Can you believe this is the last Top Ten Tuesday of 2019? This year has been filled with a lot highs and a lot of lows and in between those highs and lows, I was able to get a little bit of reading done.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday, which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is
Favorite Books I Read In 2019
Even though I didn’t read as much as I hoped to read for the most part I really enjoyed the books I read. The following list is in no particular order; but just know if it made the list, I recommend it.
- The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead
- Slay by Brittney Morris
- The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang
- Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson
- The Deep by Rivers Solomon
- An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon
- We by Yevgeny Zamyatin
Have you read any of these? Do you have any books with numbers in the title?
And, don’t forget to check out my Youtube channel.
I haven’t read any of these, but The Nickel Boys is on my TBR, and I have Colson Whitehead’s other book sitting on my shelf right now. I’m going to read it sometime this year.

I’m almost at the top of the list to borrow The Deep from my local library. Glad you liked it! I’m sure excited about it.

It was one of the few books I couldn’t take myself away from until I finished it. Granted it’s a short read, but there is so much that takes place in that little book. I’m actually going to reread it so I can do a comprehensive review.

The Nickel Boys was also in my top ten. Top three, actually. 🙂

I don’t know about you, but The Nickel Boys had me all sorts of a mess. I can see why it’s in your top three. I read for a work book club and there was only one woman didn’t like it, but the other 15 or so loved it and got super emotional when talking about bits of it.

Thanks for your list. And now I’m off to finish my final book of 2019 so that I can do my own list . . .

I did the same mad dash to finish Just Mercy. It is such an eye opening book and it sent me on an emotional rollercoaster.
