Classics Club Spin #22

It’s that time again! Time for The Classics Club Spin #22.  I was on pins and needles the last Spin, hoping the number picked would be a book I was anxious to read. So, here we are again and the nerves are settling in AGAIN. 🙀

How does the Spin work? It’s as easy as 1-2-3. Really. Choose 20 books from your Classics Club list, that you have yet to read and post the list to your blog before Sunday, December 22nd.

All you have to do is read the book that corresponds to the number and review it by January 31st, 2020. Seriously,  can it get any easier?

This spin came at the perfect time. Why? Because in order to come up with my Spin list I had to create my TBR for the Reading Classic Books challenge I host. My plan is use the 12 prompts to help me complete my Classics Club list. The prompts and TBR are below. And, yes, if you’re interested you can join in too. Just click on the Reading Classic Books link above.

Now, that’s enough self promotion. Let’s get on with the 20 12 books that have yet to be read on my Classics Club list. I am definitely doing a cheat for the spin. I’ve decided not to list 20 books since this is my Reading Classic Books TBR and I plan on reading them this year.

1) Read a classic over 500 pages
Jane Eyre
2) Read a classic by a POC and/or with a POC as the main character
Invisible Man
3) Read a classic that takes place in a country other than where you live
The Plague
4) Read a classic in translation
Amerika by Franz Kafka
5) Read a classic by a new to you author N/A
6) Read a book of poetry
7) Read a classic written between 1800-1860
Dracula by Bram Stoker
8) Read a classic written by an LGBT author and/or with an LGBT main character Passing by Nella Larsen
9) Read a classic written by a woman
To Kill a Mockingbird
10) Read a classic novella
Candide by Voltaire
11) Read a classic nonfiction
Black Boy by Richard Wright
12) Read a classic that has been banned or censored
Fahrenheit 451

Ha! So, I didn’t think this through when developing the challenge prompts. I don’t have a new to me author on my Classics Club list so if No. 5 is chosen, I’ll read No. 6.

Which book would you like to see me read for The Classics Club Spin? What book are you hoping to read as your CC Spin?

And don’t forget to checkout the Reading Classic Books Challenge.
