Shakespeare Readathon

What do you say? Let’s read the Bard together.

Towards the end of last year, The Classics Club put a call out to help Rachael @Hibernators Library find volunteers for her Shakespeare reading challenge, called Year of Shakespeare. And, well, I volunteered because I’ve been wanting to read Shakespeare in a non-academic setting.

I am hosting the Tragedies, which runs September 1st – December 31st.

The cool thing about this challenge is that it’s pretty chill. Of the 10 tragedies, you can read whatever you want over the next 4 months. You can read 1 or you can read 10. It’s strictly up to you.

1. Antony and Cleopatra
2. Coriolanus
3. Hamlet
4. Julius Ceasar
5. King Lear
6. Macbeth
7. Othello
8. Romeo and Juliet
9. Timon of Athens
10. Titus Andronicus

My Plan: The plays that are highlighted in orange are the ones I plan to read. I may read Macbeth because back in April 2018, I received the Hogarth Shakespeare retelling written by Jo Nesbo from Netgalley. I DNF’d it because . . . Well, here’s my review. I say this to say that I may attempt a reread of Nesbo’s retelling.

Anyway, I will post a review at the end of the month and it would be great if you link your review in that post’s comments.
