The Ginormous June Book Haul

This month I’m doing things a little differently. I’m will do two posts – one for my June book haul and the other for the June wrap up and July TBR

I am trying to knock books off that ever-growing TBR pile. However it does not seem to be working as will be evidenced when you see my June book haul.

A couple of months ago I decided to take drastic measures.

The Plan:

  1. Book buying ban for the remainder of the year (the library is your friend)
  2. Unhaul unread monthly TBR

I’ve done semi-well with the plan, but June was a colossal FAIL. We had employee appreciation; whcih means I had to pick up a few things. And without further adieu.

June Book Haul

Employee Appreciation

  • Saga Vol. 1  by Brian K. Vaughn
  • The Canterbury Tales (Middle English) by Geoffrey Chaucer
  • Good Omens by Terry Prachett & Neil Gaiman
  • Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor
  • The Dragon Republic by R. F. Kuang (Pre-ordered)
Work clearance $5 & under

  • 1984 by George Orwell
  • Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler
  • A Wrinkle in Time Trilogy by Madeline L’Engle
  • Invisible Man / Juneteenth by Ralph Ellison

I love the Canturbury Classics Word Cloud editions and when I saw these at BookCon, I couldn’t pass them up. And the price was fantabulous.

  • Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
  • Don Quioxte by Miguel de Cervantes

Used Bookstore

Every time I go into a used bookshop, I say “Don’t buy to much.” And every time, I walk out with much more than I planned. This particular day I went in to see the condition of The Count of Monte Cristo they put on hold for me and then . . . silly, silly me decided to peruse the stacks.

Well, well, well.  Here’s what I found.

  • The Yellow Wallpaper and Other Stories by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
  • Rich People Problems by Kevin Kwan
  • The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri
  • The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah
  • The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
  • 2666 by Roberto Bolaño

And just an FYI, I just started a booktube channel. Check it out and let me know what you think.
