- I attempted the 20 Books of Summer challenge last year and unfortunately, I didn’t complete it. Anyway, the challenge is hosted by Cathy over at 746 Books.
So, what’s the challenge all about? It’s simple – read 20 books or however many you can from June 3rd thru September 3rd.

I would love to read all 16 of the books listed, but the reality is I probably won’t have the time. On June 17th, I’m starting an accelerated summer class session. What that means is that a normal 10-12 week session is a mere 4 weeks. So, I’m not sure how much time I’ll even have to breathe let alone read.
The challenge begins during Pride Month, so I’m going to start off the 20 Books of Summer challenge with a few books that were written by LGBTQIA+ authors and/or have LGBTQIA+ rep.

ARC August is a challenge to help you clear out all those ARCs that are on your physical and/or virtual bookshelves. I’m hoping to get a few read for the challenge.

I started reading 📚The Count of Monte Cristo with Jenna @jkimexploring and Luna @bookishluna earlier in the year but fell really far behind. I was really enjoying and definitely wanted to finish before the end of the year, so I’m going to use the challenge to finish it.
You: Well, Erica are you sure you know how to count?
Me: Why, yes. I know there are 16 books marked ‘To Read’. Since Bingo Love, The Art of War and Thirty-Nine Steps are so short, I’m counting them as one.

Great choice of books – I love the variety and I love that you’ve broken it down into sections. I also didn’t know that Blake Crouch had a new book out so soon! I must go and see if I can pre-order it 😀

Great list! I wasn’t the biggest fan of Less, but the writing is amazing – the author’s talented at sketching a scene. An Unkindness of Ghosts and Future Home of the Living God look really interesting.

Oh, this looks like a really cute challenge! I’ll have to see if I can come up with a TBR (pfft, as if that’s ever a problem) and join. 🙂 I look forward to seeing what you think of An Unkindness of Ghosts! I’ve had my eyes on that for a while now. Candide was hard for me to get through, but a good read just the same. I LOVE The Art of War. And I believe I’ll be reading the same Maya Angelou book this summer, if I recall, for my book club (though I’m not sure exactly what month). I’ve read it before, decades ago, and it was great. Hope you enjoy your summer reading!

I stumbled on An Unkindness of Ghosts one day at the library and thought it sounded really interesting. I’ve heard mixed reactions about Candide, so I’m going to go into it without expectations. I’m a bit ashamed to admit that I have never read The Art of War or I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. But this is the year. No more putting it off.

Hey, no shame! Some people never read them. 🙂 And there’s no such thing as “too late” when it comes to reading books. I mean, except maybe a book of prophecies and you read it, like, five minutes after the event that will doom the planet or something like that. Pretty sure that’s not the case here, though, so you’re all good. xD Hope you enjoy them!

I don’t know how I’ll do it either. I’m going to read as much as I can over the next 21 days. My goal is to at least get what’s on my June TBR read and after that . . . Well, that’s up in the air.

I have taken them before and each time I say that I’ll never do this again. I am looking forward to reading Becoming. However, I think I’d rather listen to it. Seems like hearing her read it would be soothing (hope that makes sense).

Accelerated classes are no joke, but you will do wonderful! I recently read Becoming and it was wonderful to hear her story told by her.
