Top Ten Tuesday – Spring TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s top ten didn’t give me a warm fuzzy – mainly because I don’t listen to much audio anything. So, I decided to go with last week’s prompt that I missed.

Books On My Spring 2019 TBR

According to my Goodreads TBR I’m 4 books behind schedule. Now I question how that’s even possible because I’ve been reading a ton. However at the same time if you look at my Goodreads ‘Currently Reading‘ shelf you’d see 12 books and all of them at various stages of completion in-completion.

So, what is on my Spring TBR?

Added Currently Reading

The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang

Becoming by Michelle Obama

Friday Black by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Black Enough: Stories of Being Young & Black in America by Ibi Zoboi

The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty

Home (Binti #2) by Nnedi Okorafor

The Night Masquerade (Binti #3) by Nnedi Okorafor

The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan

The Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo

And, why not make it a Baker’s Dozen. I’d really like to read Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James by Spring’s end.

Let’s do a reality check. As much as I want to read all of these for Spring, I won’t.

I’m reading Les Misérables as part of a year long challenge and The Count fo Monte Cristo was a 1st Quarter challenge that I didn’t finish it. I’m going to stretch it another quarter; which takes me to the end of Spring.🤞

Great list. I’m reading The Hate U Give right now and it’s pretty good.

Are you really reading all of those or is Goodreads doing some strange things – which it does with me occasionally

Yes and No. I’ve started them, but I’m only actively reading The Joy Luck Club and The Third Policeman

I bought the Poppy War recently after reading all the fantastic reviews. I’m saving it for our summer (‘spring’) break too.

The Count of Monte Cristo is an absolute favourite of mine. I plan on doing my first audio reading of it this year. Maybe I’ll start in the summer… I found a good version on librivox.

Hope you get to finish as many of these on your list as you can! Happy Reading! 😀

I’m currently reading Becoming and really enjoying it. I hope you like it, too!
