I, totally, forgot about this until I saw Kristilyn’s post over at Reading in Winter. When I saw it last year I made a ‘mental’ note, albeit not a very good one, of this challenge because I wanted to give it a whirl. The challenge is called 20 Books of Summer and is hosted by 746 Books.
So, what’s the challenge all about? It’s simple – read 20 books or 15 (in my case) or however many you can from June 1st thru September 3rd.
📚📚Over 95 days or 13.5 weeks, I’ll read 15 books📚📚
June
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie
I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
The Wangs v. the World by Jade Chang
1984 by George Orwell
Amatka by Karin Tidbeck (ARC)
July
Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
Turn of the Screw by Henry James
The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen
The Cuban Affair by Nelson DeMille (ARC)
Ulysses (Episodes 1-4) by James Joyce
August
Future Home of the Living God by Louise Erdrich (ARC)
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia-Marquez
Waiting by Ha Jin
The Thirst by Jo Nesbo (ARC)
Swing Time by Zadie Smith (ARC)
Ulysses (Episodes 5-8) by James Joyce
I’ve decided to split Ulysses up over 18 weeks. That’s 1 episode a week. I want to make sure to through it and understand it without tapping out, so I figured the slow and steady way is the best plan of attack.
You can follow my progress here and on Goodreads.
You’re very organized with having the books broken down into months! Great idea 🙂 Good luck and I hope you’ll stop by:

You have some great books picked out for the read-a-thon! I’ve read and loved The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and 1984 – I hope you like them, too! Good luck with your 15 books! Oh, and I had to laugh when I saw the day breakdown of 95 days – that means, like, 4 days per book for me. Guess I should get reading!

LOL! I had to count a bunch of times. I’m already behind. I was supposed to have finished Hitchhiker’s, be on story 8 in Lone Rsnger and Tonto and halfway through 1984. Needless to say none of that has happened. So, yeah I need to get reading too.

I love this Challenge although both years I participated I haven’t finished, ha ha! I’m doing it again this year but haven’t had time to write up my post about it yet. Your list is excellent! Good luck.

Splitting the Ulysses into more digestible chunks is a smart move. Good luck with the challenge
