I really wasn’t feeling today’s Top Ten Tuesday topic, so I went back into the archives and saw this topper. I had to really narrow it down. I probably could have tripled or even quadrupled the list.
Are any of these on your list of favorite reads?
Top 10 all time favorite books
- The Millennium Series by Stieg Larsson
- The Color Purple by Alice Walker
- Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
- Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison
- Native Son by Richard Wright
- The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer
- The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio
- Paradise Lost by John Milton
- Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
- The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett
The colour purple and Jane Eyre most certainly make it to my list. Larsson I enjoyed for the first book but as each successive title came along I lost interest.

I’ve heard quite a few people say the same thing because they found it predictable. Did you find the Larsson books predictable? There were times when I did and I was put off several times because of certain events, but he made Lisbeth a character I could really root for.

They are really powerful books that speak to social conscious that’s still overlooked today. OMG you really need to finish the Millennium Series. It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat right up until the end. Which book are you on?

I’ve seen the movies but only read Dragon Tattoo. *cringe* I’ll get through them all one day. It’s not because I didn’t see potential, but I just didn’t have time to read them all!
